I will turn to "store_id" based for next release on both MyOSCadmin and the new - MyOSCcatalog . Why, you may ask? It's because i need osCommerce catalog/admin to act as a master storefront that can show all virtual store products and offer as well as its own. MyOSCcatalog will only show what related to the "store_id" that defined to it only, thus vendors can have it own virtual storefront with customised look and feel and yet had their offer and products cross-sell in the master store etc.......and can manage their own via MyOSCadmin. [/quote] Well this is disappointing. I'd suggest that perhaps it would be worthwhile to come up with a design that works either way. Ideally I'd like to see a design that can use either the store_id (for a setup that uses multiple stores) or the manufacturers_id (for a setup that uses a single store.) I'd also like a system that allows use of a single admin directory rather than a collection of them. In the case where you have hundreds of vendors the multiple directory nature of the current design quickly becomes an administrative nightmare. I suppose though that the single directory approach would require using some templating because you know that at some point there will be a requirement for each vendor's admin pages to have their own 'look and feel'. I need to be making an admin interface that meets the needs above and had thought that I'd be able to contribute to this project but given the timeline you're projecting for converting to the store_id based system and the needs I've outlined above I suppose I'll need to come up with my own design instead. I had really been hoping to avoid that though. Sigh.
