official plan for contributions

what is the official plan for contributions.... not much feedback has been given by the dev team on the plan for this

1) what contributions are being planned to integrate into the core
2) what is the time line in relation to the rest of the 2.2 / 2.3 releases

lots of feedback has been given by the community but we have not heard much with respect to the project's plan for contributions

it would make it much easier for updates if at least the top 5 - 10 contributions that most members have suggested were integrated in the core. the top 5-10  or possibly more would apply to any style of store / product line
