This message was sent from: Development http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=160419#160419 ---------------------------------------------------------------- These look very nice Harold! I just read through this thread for the first time, so I will add my thoughts. Amazon has taken a lot of effort to be easy to use as well as secure. I just made some changes to my account details over there and noticed the following: 1. You could view the "My Account" features without signing in and over http. 2. Once you click to change anything, a login comes up with your email address (used as username) already populated from a cookie. After entering you password you can go ahead and make any changes you want, then log out *or* go forward to shop. There are no extra logins necessary unless you were to let it idle out. 3. After the password is entered, you are connected via https. I agree that the email addy should continue to be used as the username. I also suggest that a single login is all that should be necessary. Customers *hate* entering passwords, and making them jump those hoops too many times will lose sales. The process must be smooth, easy and logical, with reasonable security - this isn't a bank (but even there I only log in once!). HTH. David
