Here is the 2 cents from someone who downloaded the 05/13/03 version.  I figure my thoughts are fresh and so here ya go.  First, I choose this software over miva merchant,  because of the look and feel.

Now after reading lots of fourms and about lots of the mods I have only installed 1 mod.     

The Allprods. mod.  Search engine placement = sales.

What other mods do I think I am going to require ?  Keep in mind I have not actually added and sold a product yet but I can say over the last 4 days I have made a list.

1. Handling Fee Mod
2. Free shipping if over X amount
3. Easy Populate
4. Account Creation Security Mod - (the one they are arguing about right now) :roll:
5. Allproducts (already installed - if that shows importance)

Thats pretty much the list.  Im sure my needs will grow after I get products in the catalog and start operation but I thought the powers that be would appreciate a viewpoint from a newbie whos looked at 4 carts and 13 hosts in 21 days :) 

Lastly - What I would really like to have is a way to force phpbb account creation so that when a user signs into the store they get signed up in the bbs at the same time.  This would give them one userID and one password.
