No disrespect intended, but ...

I know that questions here pertaining to "how soon will 2.2 be ready?" are often a source of bitter responses, but I have some important business decisions to make that hinge on the issue, so, at the risk of getting flamed, here goes ...

I have been working with M1 to develop a preliminary version of my site. I've reworked the code a lot, however, in the course of which I have acquired PHP skills and a knowledge of OSC that will enable me to do pretty much what I want with the completed version 2.2. I want my site to go live using that completed, stable 2.2, and I look forward very much to having it in hand, so I can get down to the "real thing".

On the other hand, I also want to open the site in time to get some benefit out of the Christmas season. That means I should have the site up-and-running by approximately end of August or early September. In order to rework the code to my liking, I would need the final 2.2 by around the first part of August. Is this a realistic hope, or should I just go ahead and use M1?
