Hi Tony,
thanks for your advice on Tortise CVS. Nice tool but I think I am more comfortable with WinCVS. But I will have a closer look.

For now I just imported the whole sourceforge CVS into my local cvsroot and created a branch for my changes. Maybe that will be the best solution for now. I will continue to copy the daily snapshots from sourceforge and merge them into my branch. I hope that's not going to be too much work.
