RE: Image Permissions Problem

I've been trying to research this problem for a while and looking on the other Forums when the discussion was here.

I am on 5/14/2003 snapshot with the new file_upload class you're talking about.  And I have also applied the sm,md,lg image contribution, but I don't think that is causing this problem, because the problem I am having is ONLY with the original image definition/file, not the newly added medium and large image.

I have had errors in the past when I try to FTP my images first and just key the path in the Admin when I add a new product, so I ALWAYS use the Admin NewProduct and browse for the image off my PC and have it pulled to the image folder.  

What I've noticed is that the regular image (delivered in snapshot) is loaded with 777, like you said is defaulted in the new class.  But my medium and large images get 644, like I would expect.

Then I've had the similar experience where product images (only the original ones loaded with 777 and I don't know where to see what the owner is that you all refer to here) just sporatically get set to 0K and no longer usable, and when I go into CPanel File Manager to change the permissions, it says it did it, but the permissions never change.  I have to physically delete the file, clear any cache on my PC and re-do the image in the Admin ProductEdit.  

Should the images for products not be loaded with permissions of 644?  It seems only the 777 ones give me trouble.  I'd asked on the support forum if someone could tell me where the 644 permission should be getting set on the image upload, so that the default 777 is not used, but no one answered me.

Can anyone shed some additional light on this, cause I would think if I am ONLY using the Admin function to add images for products, than this WOULD be an osCommerce issue.  No?
