Only if you use Windows. The way I work, using linux, is to have  a cvs checkout directory in home/cvs/oscommerce. This of course follows the cvs structure of admin/admin catalog/catalog. I then symlink the actual catalog(home/cvs/oscommerce/catalog/catalog) and admin directories into my webserver directory.
