Test vs production: The only actual difference is the URL. Functionality is the same on both environements. In both cases you need an account. If you sign up as a merchant (professional) account you will be contacted by Way2Pay and offered a test account as well. Indeed the test account will not be billed.

Just choose APN in the administration part. Another asp is used in that case. By using APN, messages (XML) are sent from Way2Pay to the merchant site and back, checking if the order and billing information are identical on both sites (sides :-)). If not the transaction is cancelled. This way both vendor and buyer are more protected. APN is very handy if you sell something and do not want to verify manually whether you received the payment or not.
