This message was sent from: Development http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=188266#188266 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all, if you want to see how they plan on implementing the template system look here.... http://www.oscommerce.com/community/workboard,48 but the team is not implementing any outside template engine as is currently listed.... so all this talk about using an external template engine seems to be redundant.....the layout is quite clearly shown in both the docs and the structure of the osc install system. This template system is simple, backwards compatable with the contributions and straight forward to implement. If you are interested in setting up osc to use another template engine, and you like the template engine, might be a good fork project for someone... Anyways....The template system as a start will be done this way, I am sure in the future, a parser will be developed and used by osc, which will bring it in lines with modern template systems.... but this is such a major change, it will mean no more osc as it stands now.....but rather a new version which would not be very compatable with current contributions......even the old ones have uses, since they usually only need to be retrofitted to meet current snapshots....
