This message was sent from: Development http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=216521#216521 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all I thought I should give my personal opinion here :) Generally a few of the contributions are well written, one of the issue's I face is that they do not follow the standards set by oscommerce which can be found in the standards file, beacuse of this I find I see a contribution that looks great and also works great but it will take me many hours to convert this to meet the standards. If developers could look at the standards document and then follow the guidelines contributions could be integrated into cvs much quicker. As was posted by harald the most popular contributions would be integrated into CVS after MS-4 is complete. If these "popular" contribs could be updated to meet the standards then the integration after MS-4 will be quicker and the final 2.2 can be released very quickly. I am all for people helping out with development, we are not an elite group who do not want anyone else to join the team we are a bunch of developers with too much work and not enough time ;) If you want to help code something that meets our standards and email it to a member of the core team. It will be gratefully received and if it meets our roadmap (which you can find in the workboard) it will be integrated and you will be given credit for the work. If you have any questions feel free to pm or email me if you don't want the questions to be made public. And zaq continually promoting forks will not get any of us anywhere, if you dont like the way things are done currently use your right to leave the community and complain about something else. As said above this is my personal opinion not of the team :D
