I think it would be easier to SEC 1a to work on the snapshot it was written for.
When following the download link included in the readme v1.0a for the 5-18-03 snapshot I receive file not found.

If anyone has the snapshot for osCommerce 05-18-2003 could you please send it to me either by link or PM?
 
I will be happy to upload it to my server and make it available for everyone.
