BART district tax

This message was sent from: Features http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=190149#190149 ---------------------------------------------------------------- One minor correction to my post on CA sales tax: If your business is in one of the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) counties (San Francisco, Alameda, or Contra Costa), you have to collect the BART district portion of those local taxes also. Annoying, huh? So in my case, since we're based in San Francisco, I have to collect the following sales taxes: Shipped to San Francisco: 8.5% Shipped to Alameda or Contra Costa counties: 7.75% Shipped elsewhere in California: 7.25% What I think I'm going to have to do is tax based on the state at 7.25% and then hack in a test for one of the 50 cities in Alameda and Contra Costa counties and San Francisco. I think it would be ideal if future versions of osC allowed you to stipulate conditions for adding specific tax rates (based on any address criteria), since these laws vary so greatly and must be followed to the letter.
