This message was sent from: Features http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=208242#208242 ---------------------------------------------------------------- I think all that has been hapening is an effect of rapid growth - initially one saw the same mebers over and over. Now lots of new members - I have been here snce it was TEP and plan to be around for a longtime. I think there are many issues - one big one is that folks are just for the most part, nit reading old posts. I see the same questions posteed over and over demonstrating that folks are not bothering to read the old posts. The other is that a lot of people are not giving back to the OSC community. Folks are quick to demand changes and point out errors but slow to help on development. Granted a lot of people do not know php but there are other ways to help. A lot of times people do not want to pay for mods, and that is their perogative. But they should understand if thaey are getting it for free, the developers are not obligated to provide ongoing support. I cannot express how many demands I have received to bring the wishlist mod up to ms2 and how dare I relese it and not work to bring it up to the new code - blah, blah, blah. Not polite requests - but irate demands. On the other hand, developers must understand that if you buy a program, then you must get the support. And some folks are not very ethical with this. All in all, yes there has been a change in the sense of community. Hopefully it will return to what it was before or become something better. Only time will tell.
