Hmm.  You can certainly do it.  In fact, there are several different ways.  You could bundle all the products together and sell them at once with a 6 month expiration on the downloads.  You could make a new payment class that just doesn't charge people with subscriptions.  There are probably other ways as well.

Short answer:  Yes, but it will require some coding as this is not standard behavior.
