And do you have the rest of the site, curl, and authorize.net's gateway set up, as well as your transaction key and username in the admin section?  Can you see those blanks in the admin section?  And did you update the file authorizenet_direct.php with your directory to curl?  And lastly...are you doing this from scratch?  Or have you installed other stuff before, anything from other packages to SIM?
