using oscommerce for selling music online

hey guys. i'm workin on the development of a site to sell artists' music online. the users pay and then they can download the cd's of the artsts.  i need to know how much i can customize the pages (like product info) to show what i want and how hard that is to do (i'm not at all afraid of coding but i do have a deadline). for instance, i want to show for each artist a page with all of their cds on there for purchase. i'm guessing that each artist woud be a category and each cd would be a product?

another issue is that after a person buys a cd i want them to get a link to download it and i need them to be able to get this link later too.

another general question is, how hard is it to add a new page to oscommerce? it doesnt look too bad but i just want some info from people who have had to develop with it.
