This message was sent from: Features http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=221519#221519 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hello osCommerce Community! I want to keep this short, so I'll just jump right in. What I'm doing: I'm in a enormous amount of debt, so I'm starting a company to help generate some income specifically for paying that off. I need low overhead, so I'm looking for a free shopping cart system that's easy to implement. I'm a designer that focuses on usability. This company and site is probably the most no-frills deal you'll ever see built with osCommerce. There probably won't be even 100 products at any given time, but of course, if the need presents itself it's good to have the capability to expand. I NEED the site to load fast so each page won't have a ton of options. I need to be able to get the site up about two weeks from when I start, so ease of implementation is key. What I'm going to use osCommerce for:

Sell tee shirts & stickers
Keep a simple, east to run shop

Don't need a ton of extras; it's a no-frills shop
Keep time involved in running it low (I spend most time manufacturing product)

Run an Affiliate Program
To keep the overhead cost down!
What features I want from osCommerce:

* Ability to export entire MySQL database in case of server migration
Ability to turn off shipping (all shipping is free)
Customizable input fields in the checkout area
Ability to order without "Registering for an Account"

Registering should still be available for those who want it

Integration with my current CSS code

My whole template is 100% CSS, and is under 10k with graphics
I NEED low load times so this is key

Affiliate Program needs:

Simplicity
$1 flat commission per item (only on certain product categories)
Affiliate sign-up page with customizable input fields

*I have a host for my other URLs that allows up to 10 domains on the account. It's on a Linux server, has MySQL access, and has plenty of space/bandwidth. I don't want to spend more money on hosting unless my current host can't handle the load. I need to be able to export the database if I run into a problem. Also, as a side note...there might even be a possibility of using osCommerce as a simple backend, and using my hand-built HTML pages as the front end with links to the order pages on each one. I'm sure that's possible, but are there any issues I'll run into with that in osCommerce? Thank you guys SO MUCH for helping out here and for contributing to such a great project! .frankiejr p.s.
