just an update.

not only was the information i put in the text box not getting carried over to the shopping cart, NOTHING was.  i didn't notice that at first.  i would add an item, and it would say the cart was empty.

i reverted back to my original shopping_cart.php files (in catalog and includes/classes), and got the shopping cart working again, to where items could be added.

next, i used WinMerge to ONLY bring over the things that Chandra added, and not EVERY difference, since my version is a bit older, i guess.  Cart still works, and the items are added, but there is no value for them.

In the cart, you can see a littl "-" for where the option should be listed, but nothing is there.

i'm making tiny progress, but any help would be cool.
