Is 2.1 that dead?

There must be someone who knows why this isn't working. If I even knew what page controls the transfer of selected attributes from the product page to the cart, maybe I could copy that page from somewhere else, where it is working correctly, and replace it. If there is really no fix for this except to upload 2.2 (which is sitting in a folder on my desktop), try to install it, and start all over again, I wish one of you who really understands this stuff would tell me (let me down gently?) so I can get on with it. I see from some of the other posts that people are having trouble getting the cart in 2.2 to work properly, as well. Any and all help much appreciated. Julie
