Sorry, I have looked, there is a sort order, but I forgot i installed the Module Product Attributes and Sorter.

You need to install this, without it your only option is:

'a)    Size 10'
'b)    Size 12'
'c)    Size 14'

Crap I know but i remember I considered it.
