GNU Comment in the source code

Hi,

okay easy things are: 

- the copyright on the catalog could be removed if necessary
- the copyright in admin is untouchable! 

but what is with the GNU License Comment in the source?
if change the source, under gnu license, i have to mark up the changes with the date...
or could i easy delet this comments?

no one could see this so i think its not importent if i change it, let it how its original or delet it, or not??
