That would not only be a violation of th eGPL but also a violation of copyright law in almost every country of this world.

General advice:

If you dont like our license and/or our copyright protection - look for a solution that fits your needs better. We do not force anyone to use osCommerce. But if you use osCommerce - accept and obey our license and our copyright protection.

I think this is what most people call the "freedom to choose".
