We take copyright and/or GPL violations very serious.

We will establish contact with the supposed violator and try to clear things up in a friendly and personal approach. This usually solves 99% of all cases. At most we are confronted with lack of knowledge and the true will to correct possible problems.

There were some cases in the past where no solution was found in first instance. We have methods to handle these cases. In extreme cases we will not hesitate to order a lawyer to make sure that the copyright and/or GPL compliance is garantueed.

We do not like public finger-pointing and/or community members that think they have the right to defend osCommerce by personally attacking people they think are not in compliance.

Doing stuff like that is NOT helping osCommerce, to be true, it is hurting our reputation. So please refrain from such actions, contact a core team member and explain why you think you have found a possible violation.

Before you do that however, read our [url=http://www.oscommerce.com/community/faq,26/q,50]copyright policy[/url] and then read it again to make sure you have understood it ;-)

Also read the [url=http://www.fsf.org/licenses/gpl.html]GNU General Public License[/url] again and again.

Accusing someone of being not compliant is something very serious and possibly dangerous. Let this stuff be handled by people with experience.
