Problem moving mySQL database

Well I just spent the better part of two hours trying to 'Export' my little database from one host and 'Restore' it to a new host.
No Luck
If the db manages to make it into the new host - It's Empty - Just a name.
If things would go right this would only be about a 5 minute job.
I only have 30 or so products and only test data anywhere else.

I'm thinking the best way to do this is to Install osCommerce to create the database then do a synchronize with my FTP client to get all my file edits back. Then just reenter the products

Any Advice?
