Just after Installation issue.

Hey everyone, newbie here : )

So, I installed OSC and on my index page, as you all know has the information regarding setup and so forth, i want to edit that page and customize it into a greeting page for my store but I can't seem to get rid of that initial information that is displaying; the information such as 
(1) Error Messages.
(2)Editing Page Texts
(3)Securing the Administration Tool
(4)Online Documentation. 

Is there a way or should I master HTML mingled with PHP first.
