Add Base Shipping

i really liked the way my old shopping cart added a base shipping price to all orders.

for example, say i set the base price to be 1.50.

if you order item A, which has an "individual shipping price" of 1.00, the total shipping is 2.50. (1.50+1.00)

if you order item A and item B, both of which have shipping prices of 1.00, the total shipping is 3.50. (1.50+1.00+1.00)

if you order item A, item B, and item C which has an individual shipping price of say 1.25, then the total shipping price is 4.75. (1.50+1.00+1.00+1.25)


the shopping cart also allowed me to set different base prices for different groups (group 1 base is 1.50, group 2 base is 1.75. add item D with shipping price 1.00 to group 2 and the big total is 7.50=1.50+1.00+1.00+1.25+1.75+1.00) but i never had to use more than one base price. any ideas on how i can achieve this using oscommerce?
