As for your original question, there are no 'skins' or templates as such that you can download; you can change the look considerably but you have to do it yourself.

Start in stylesheet.css and you can change all the colours and fonts etc there.

Various images folders scattered throughout the files hold the little pictures which you can delete or replace whatever you want. But you do have to create all your own new images and choose the colours and everything. That is the fun bit ;)
