Setup pitfalls?

We currently use Actinic Catalog but are looking to redevelop the site in oscommerce. So far we have the standard oscommerce install set up on a local development pc.

Apart from this forum, where are the best 'how to' and 'how not to' guides to configuring, customising and managing oscommerce.

We're relatively tech savvy, but at the moment we keep having to trawl the forums for answers to individual (yet apparently frequently asked) questions. Somebody somewhere must have documented the whole process start to finish?
