And where else will you look?  I don't expect a credit card processor to pay for fraud, I would imagine there is insurance to cover this or it is a cost of doing business.  I would think your low cost alternative is to only accept checks and money orders, not very realistic.

Also, I think most of us are only using PayPal as one method of accepting CC payments, there are a number of similar processors now.  But the fact remains that PayPal has probably the highest name recognition value.
