Hi all,

I was hoping I could get your thoughts on the searchability of the OsCommerce software. It is my understanding the because OsCommerce doesn't yet have a solid search engine detector or cart id "killer", that search engines have difficulty parsing our web stores and their individual product lines and product within them.

Any thoughts on this? I have an OsCommerce store and have not yet tried indexing it myself as of yet, but a friend of mine has had an OsCommerce store for quite awhile now and had to go to another cart due to this issue. Another engineer friend of mine who works at AltaVista said that AltaVista isn't going to be able to get past the php and mySQL generated cart id's, which is where the majority of the content is coming from.

Anyway.. would LOVE to get some thoughts on this! I'd also like to know if there are any plans in the works for implementing solid search engine detection and cart id "killer"s. I know JShop currently has this in its feature set.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
