View in Any Currency, Checkout in Default

This is an issue that I've come across trying to set up an internet store to sell internationally.

In the current setup of OSC, you can choose a default currency (in my case CAD) and set up any other currencies for the customer to see the products in. However, if you want the purchases to be charged in your default currency you need to set the Admin "Switch To Default Language Currency" to true.

If you have the Admin switch set, your customer can choose a currency to view in. But whenever a refresh is generated, OSC changes back to the default currency. So the customer must continually select the currency they want to view in whenever they select a new item. This is because my site is only in English, and I've tied CAD to it. I've seen other OSC-based sites with the same problem. It's a very annoying thing and may end up causing the customers to give up in frustration.

Instead, I want OSC to display the prices in the customer-selected currency until Checkout, at which point it tells the customer the price in selected currency, the exchange rate used, and the amount that will be billed in the default currency. And then pass the default currency amount through to the given payment gateway.

Why is this an issue? Because if you want to show the price in these different currencies, you will need to set up multiple currency accounts if it isn't converted back to your chosen default currency. This gets really expensive and complicated quickly, and your payment gateway probably won't be able to handle it anyhow. In my case I want to sell to Europe, US, Canada, and Japan -- I would need to find a bank that would allow me to have merchant accounts in Euro, USD, C$, and Yen.

I've been playing with this issue for a while and don't see any contributions or simple solution. I resorted to putting a link to a pop-up currency converter on my site so the customer can do the conversion themselves, but I don't think this is a very good solution.
