In Stock - Out of stock

Hi,

what is the point of Product status "In stock" and "Out of stock" in admin->products->New Product/Edit Product section if there is Product Quantity field?

I think that "Out of stock" product quantity is 0, isn't it ? :)

By the way ... I think these two fields should be related... That's mean,
if Quantity > 0, then product "In Stock" or if product "Out of stock" then quantity should be <= 0 ... and now I find that such logical chain doesn't work. The product which quantity is set to 0 could be "In stock" and product which quantity is > 0 could be "Out Of Stock".

Any comments? Maybe I'm wrong, just let me know.
