This message was sent from: Suggestions and Proposals http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=207022#207022 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, We are in the process of opening a new oscommerce developers website, and wanted to get some feedback from team members and developers alike on our concept. In short the new website's purpose will be the following, using oscommerce store as backbone: 1. Offer oscommerce specific original web template source files that can be purchased and altered for usage with oscommerce. We have done tons of professional templates, allot of which e never used and thought this would be a great help to all developers who may be proficient in basic installs, but wish to offer their customers more in terms of design. 2. Offer install services for the above. We realize that while it may be easy for some of us to open .png or adobe files and figure out how to incorporate them into a website, many people still seem to have problems with this. Thought it would be a nice service to offer with 1-2 day turn around. 3. Discounted hosting services: in short, we have dedicated servers that we have been using for our personal oscommerce installs, specifically setup with shared SSL and the works. We thought it may be nice to offer other developers something like this at a discounted price. Just a thought. 4. Contributions: a simple custom form that would allow users to purchase installs for current great contributions from other developers, and our own contributions (like the graphical infobox headers contribution). We would also have a simple form for requesting custom contributions or coding to oscommerce. 5. Job Board: we have had the privelage of working with some brilliant oscommerce developers from here, and thought it would be great for everyone to be able to post proejcts requiring work for developers to answer to, and also another section within our forums for posting information about yourself or your company about what you specilize in. We are still playing with the idea and wanted to get some opinions. This is not meant to replace the current oscommerce site or forums, but instead to simply add to it so we can all help each other with templates, work, installs, etc. Let us know your thoughts. Thanks for the input.
