It is fine now.  Being outside of North America  - chances are if you been trying on since last Thursday - your connection might have come to a dead end somewhere on the EAST COAST of NORTH AMERICA.  They have had a MAJOR power grid failure that affected a large part of the North East- US and parts of Canada.  Backup for most servers/router are good for a hour or two - not normally several hours to days without power.  They still have had a few areas with rolling black outs. And others STILL do not have power.  Before that there has been small outages in CA*NET (one of Canada's internet back bone) that took some time for router to reconfigure.

It is there - keep trying.
