Way to view contributions

Often, when looking at the list of contributions, it isn't always clear what it does, or what it will look like. Sometimes I have found that people will list a url which has the contribution installed, but it isn't always consistent. Perhaps a topic area on the board would work -- or if we could find web hosting space, perhaps a demo site for just the contributions. Any thoughts on this?
