This message was sent from: Suggestions and Proposals http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=221652#221652 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Make each category -> sub category->product have its own margin. something like this: Category "Hardware" 14% margin on net price. Sub category "Mice" 25% margin on net price. Product "Intel celeron 1.8" 10% margin etc... Makeing the top category dominant over non set sub and products. i mean that if no margin value is set on a sub category then 14% is the given margin for that subcategorys products. but when set to f,ex 25% on sub category then alla products residing under that sub category will also be set to 25%. And a product would be able to be freely set to f,ex 10% under a sub category that is 25% and/or a category that is set to 14%. the margin values i used is fictional and should be free to set to any %. this is very usefull when importing price lists from manufacturers and distributors. you would only have to import the net price that you pay for the products and then add your margin as you see fit.. No more pre calculations when updating prices after import Now i'm no expert but i think a lot of you guys n girls could pull this off. think that you would be able to update 1000nds of products in an instance. And all that free time you would get.
