Index only new files

Hi Guys,
 
I hope I did not overlook anything in the FAQ or the mailing list arcive,
but I didn't find a solution there...
 
I am developing a knowledge mine tool and I'd like to use the indexer of
perlfect for searching entries. Because the amount of data will get quite
big, it is nessecary that the indexer indexes only new files when they
arrive. Indexing the whole directory would take to long and indexing
overnight would result that the new entries can not be found until the next
morning.
 
Is there a way to tell the indexer just to add one file to the database
_without_ indexing the other files again?
