Installation corrupted my ySQL Server

I tried to install the software on my local machine. Now my MySQL Server seems to be destroied. The error Message is #1045 - Access denied for user mailto:'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) What can happen duringthe installation, that this message occurs? Please help me!
