Tiki team!

Work was started to get phpOpenTracker working with Tiki 7 months ago.
Unfortunately, it was never completed.

The code is here (an included in 1.7.x and 1.8 series):
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/tikiwiki/tiki/lib/phpOpenTracker/

phpOpenTracker is a really nice project (with nice plugins too!) and I
would enjoy using it within Tiki.

Do we:
a) do nothing?
b) retract and pull out all references to phpOpenTracker? (on future
partners page, feature list, in 1.7 announcements, etc)
c) go for BBClone integration instead?
d) finish the job minimally? phpOpenTracker needs to be installed
separately but we add a web-bug* in templates which are activated when
phpOpenTracker is checked in admin control panel.
e) finish the job completely? phpOpenTracker is installed completely
along with Tiki and is activated solely by checking phpOpenTracker in
the admin control panel.

*It features a logging engine that, either invoked as a web-bug by a
HTML <img> tag or embedded with two lines of code into your PHP
application, logs each request to a website into a database. One
installation of phpOpenTracker can track an arbitrary number of web-sites.

Of course, c, d and e are real work so we'll need a volunteer(s).

I chatted with the author Sebastian Bergmann on September 24, 2003. Here
is an excerpt:
<marclaporte> Do you have an estimate of how difficult/long it is to
complete phpOpenTracker-tiki integration?
<Sebast1an> I don't know tiki, but integrating the Logging Engine
properly should be doable within hours.
<Sebast1an> Integrating (possibly customized) reporting into tiki would
take longer, though.

What needs to be done:
1- add web bug to templates and test with active phpOpenTracker
installation.
2- include a note with installer that phpOpenTracker only works with
certain databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc)
3- include phpOpenTracker pages in Tiki
4- add setup.sh instructions on folders
What else?

Any volunteers?

Thanks!!!!!!

M ;-)
