Actually there is nothing in the manual about this :) You have to infer
from the example that using javascript is the preferred method.

I've just looked at the example given the examples/webug directory and I
can see how the js script can be very useful since it will fill in all
the data fields for you. Saves a lot of trouble.

Wyck: Have you edited this line in the js file?

I think you need to set it to:

document.write(
  '<img
src="http://www.mysite.com/phpOpenTracker-1.2.2/phpOpenTracker/docs/scripts/image.php?'
