Ideally I would like Pixory to organize the thumbnails according to 
the screen size of the viewer's computer, so that as many rows and 
columns as possible fits on the screen without any scrollbars in any 
direction. B

ut that might not be an easy task to implement, since more columns 
might give more wrapped caption text, which in turn might give fewer 
rows (and this also assumes that you can find out the available 
window size of the different browsers used)?

Given the limitations of a static layout and the fact that 1280x1024 
screens are quite common nowadays the maximum number of columns and 
rows are given by the following:

How many columns of portrait size 75 thumbnails without caption can 
you fit into a 1280x1024 screen?

How many rows of landscape size 75 thumbnails without caption can you 
fit into a 1280x1024 screen (plus the Pixory header/tail)?

In reality you would probably not use exactly these maximum figures 
for yóur albums, since you need some space for the browser menus 
etc., but unless there are any implementation complications they 
could serve as some kind of guidance for the range needed.
