Yes, you have to forward tcp port 8081 from the router to the actual ip address of the machine that is actually running pixory. I have set up my home lan to assign fixed ip addresses to each of the machines on my lan, so that I can reliably port forward to my Pixory machine. My particular router (Buffalo) allows the DHCP built into the router to assign specific ip addresses to specific machines based on the address (MAC) of the ethernet card in the lan machine. Or you could statically assign an ip address to the pixory machine yourself. Bottom line: you must forward tcp port 8081 to the ip address of the machine that runs pixory. If you type 'ipconfig' at a command prompt on the pixory machine (that's for windows, 'ifconfig' for linux), it shows the ip address that should be the destination of the port forward assignment in the router. good luck, joe --- jolle70 <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > I just started to try to use pixory, and I think it > will be perfect > for what i want to do, if I only manage to configure > my > router/firewall... > I have a static ip and a router (with firewall?) to > be able to have > 2 computers in a my private network. > > I suppose that I somehow have to setup the router to > let traffic > reach the prixory server.
