I think the idea behind the pop-before-smtp is that you _don't_ have
to _explicitly_ perform the pop by hand. The protocol is built into
the mail client (outlook) so that it will, behind the scenes, perform
a pop authentication (but no pop downloads) before the smtp send.

Anyhow, I'm not certain that this is what is going on-- it's just a
guess. If you want to be sure, you should download the packet sniffer
Ethereal, and packet sniff the session between Outlook and your smtp
server. Ethereal will rebuild the entire dialog between Outlook and
the smtp server, and then you can see exactly what is going on.

Should work. I know a number of people are successsfully running
Pixory against smtp servers that require SMTP auth.

If you want to figure out why Pixory isn't working with myrealbox,
then start the debugging process over. Configure Pixory for your
myrealbox account, delete the log files, turn on PXMailSender 'debug',
restart Pixory at a command prompt, and look at the output.

joe
