Hi Joe Thanks for your help and the info about Exif/Jfif tags. It's a pity no-one bothers to follow standards, life would be so much simpler then... So far I have not managed to get rid of the ACDsee problem by any configuration changes. Other type of edits can be configured so that they do not spoil the Exif header, but rotating always destroy things. Since this is actually a "lossless" operation I guess that the ACDsee people did not think any major configuration stuff should be needed? Strangely enough there does not seem to be any entry in the Usenet or anywhere on the web which identifies this problem in ACDsee. I was hoping that someone had solved this already. But maybe the combination of ACDsee and JRE is not so common? I guess that I will have to find another tool for my basic picture management. Or maybe use ACDsee Classic for rotating when I download the pictures from the camera, and the ACDsee 6.0 for further "tuning"...
