I think the author is not really convinced of the concept of a
computer at home that is always running and always online. I am
assuming this is partly because flatrate broadband Internet access is
not as widespread in Germany as in the US for example. 

In his summary, the author states that the software might not be the
right choice for a professional photographer, for whom a regular
homepage is the better option. For other users he writes, that Pixory
makes it quite easy to setup photo albums in a few steps and to
control access to those albums via email invitations.

He also says, that you do need a little network knowledge to setup the
system, but even as a beginner you should be able to get it running by
reading the Pixory help pages.

So I think you are right Joe, the author does have a different usage
pattern in mind, when he says, it is a good thing that you can keep
all of your pictures on your home computer but the albums are not
available once this computer goes offline. He also writes that you
send email invitations to tell people about the 'opening hours' of
your albums.

I think it is a positive article though, especially when he talks
about how easy it is to set up a photo album and invite people or
groups of people to look at the pictures.
