I get the same problem if I test with swedish letters in the file
names. Haven't seen this before, since I have kept the original file
names assigned by my camera. I am running version 2.12 on WinXP
(stand-alone version).

Even if this had been working within Windows, what happens if a Linux
user downloads an archive containing swedish letters? Will it open up
nicely, or is it better to adopt some kind of "file renaming scheme"
for non-US letters just for the download stuff?
