ok, I"ll bite :)
I've tried using http://localhost:8081 on a fresh
pixory installation (unconfigured) with both Win2K and
OSX, and in my cases it just worked (it didn't go into
an endless loop).
So I'm curious how you got into a loop. It must
somehow be related to your configuration relative to
mine.
If you tell me:
which distribution you used (stand-alone, web app,
etc)
which operating system you are running
what's in your etc/hosts file
maybe we can figure it out.
