I should be clear.  Two out of three of my servers are not on the same
LAN.  I think the one I am using to host pixory is in California, but
quite frankly it doesn't matter much to me.  This is not an uncommon
scenario, and more hosts are offering packages that support WAR based
webapps, but may not allow shell access or changing your system
properties.

I'll stand by my previous statement that I think it would be more than
sufficient to ship with a default account and password, and force the
user to change the password on the first access.

And that's fair, but you may want to make that somewhat more clear. 
It would do well in managing expectations.

And that would get you most of the way there, but not all of the way.
 I would also need to be able to specify HTML blocks for the top and
bottom of the page.  CafePress has a good interface for this, it might
be worth looking at.
