all of your last message makes sense to me and thanks for your fast
answer. 

I downloaded the "localization package" and changed the cases where I
could decide it the right way, together with some more translated text.
Please find the results of this "fast shot" attached... Seems so, that I
got a starting flu today, so it could need some days until I can go
ahead a little bit more concentrated...

As mentioned earlier, I suggest the following:
A) Please compile a version with the attached xml files and send it back
to me directly. 
(A version or date depending naming convention for the localisation
package would be ok to prevent errors/misunderstandings: E.g.
pixory-localization-20041110.zip)

B) I will install it and go ahead with corrections as long as I will
find some... Attention looping danger! ...;-)

C) When we will have the first version without grammatical errors, you
publish the resulting version on www.pixory.org

D) From that point of time (if you agree) I could temporarely volunteer
as a kind of language-maintainer (for german) if there are suggestions
and feedback for the translation from your users. Let's say until there
is a first errorfree, complete localized german version...

Is this ok for you? If so, I am looking forward to your next email and
the next german version...!

No problem with your UTF-8-- it's my fault. I changed the case to make
it consistent with the "lower-everywhere" I adpoted for English. I
wasn't sure if the cases you provided were intentional.

By all means, change the case to what you feel is most appropriate for
German language software.

I also took the liberty, with the help of a native German speaker of
course (I don't speak a word of German), to modify a couple of the
values in order to make them shorter. Long labels for the vertical
left-hand-side menu pane essentially "break" the UI by squishing
everything to the right. These were the values for "Basic" and
"Advanced" under Configuration. If you don't like the values chosen,
then feel free to replace them, but replace them only with words that
are no longer.

More importantly, during localization, I identified a few strings you
missed ;)

I've uploaded the whole "localization" bundle to the "Files" section of
this group, as a file named "pixory-localization.zip". For each resource
that was localized (where a resource could be a whole page like Login,
or just a component like the ImageMetadata, e.g. EXIF), there is a
corresponding file named Resource.properties.xml. That is the "default"
localization, meaning it contains the value for each string that will be
used when a language is requested for which there is no other matching
localization file. The default values are all English. Also, for each
resource there is a corresponding Resource_de.properties.xml, which is
the German localization of the strings. In each case where I couldn't
find a German translation for a given string, I put "xxxx" for that
value in the Resource_de.properties.xml and also commented out (XML
comment) that value so that the system will use the value contained in
the Resource.properties.xml file. So to find the strings that we still
need German values for, simply search all of the
Resource_de.xml.properties files for "xxxx".
